The University Hospital of Cincinnati Transplant Program team members are available to help. If you are considering becoming a patient, our administrative coordinators are here to assist you with setting your first appointment and answering any of your questions. Current patients can reach a Transplant Coordinator anytime of the day or night 7 days a week. Whether you are new with our program or a previous patient, we are here to help.

Call 911 in Emergencies

Call 911 and have the ambulance take you to The University Hospital Of Cincinnati OR the nearest Emergency department if you have any of the following symptoms:

  • Chest pain or pressure over the chest bone or radiating up to the jaw or up your left arm
  • Trouble breathing
  • Severe bleeding
  • Sever injury
  • Seizures
  • Unconsciousness
  • Any severe, persistent pain

Once you have reached the emergency room, have someone contact the liver transplant coordinator AS SOON AS POSSIBLE at 513-584-9999.

Emergency Number when the Liver Transplant Office is Closed

Call the paging operator at 513-584-7243 or 888-825-4873. Ask to speak to the liver transplant coordinator.

Use these emergency numbers if you are calling after hours, on a holiday or on the weekend with an emergency.
Remember to:
  • Indicate whether it is an urgent problem that requires an immediate return call.

  • Stay off the phone so we can reach you when we call back.

  • Remove "CALL BLOCK" on your phone if you subscribe to this phone service.

  • Call back if a return call is not received within 5 minutes.
