If You Have A Fever? |
It is very important to call your doctor and transplant coordinator if you have a temperature greater than or equal to 100°F ( 37.8 °C) or greater. Fevers or high temperatures can be a symptom of rejection. It is important that you have a thermometer when you leave the hospital. It may be glass or digital; just be sure you know how to read it.

If you have a fever, call the liver transplant office. If you are calling after hours, on a holiday or ont he weekend with emergencies, call 513-584-9999 and follow the prompts to have the on-call liver transplant coordinator paged.
Remember to:
- indicate whether it is an urgent problem that requires an immediate return phone call
- stay off the phone so we can call you back at the phone number you leave on the message.
- call back if you do not receive a call within 15 minutes
If possible, purchase a voice messaging system. If you have "call block" on your phone, please remove it. It is extremely important to your care that we are able to contact you by phone or leave a message on an answering manchine at any hour of any given day.
Remember: Do not contact 6NW personnel or residents with questions.
Although acetaminophen (Tylenol® )/paracetamol may be used to treat your fever, talk to your coordinator or doctor first. .

Monitor Your Temperatures To
Head Off Fevers Quickly
Take your temperature two times a day. If there are times that you may feel cold, hot, achy or chilly, take your temperature again. Chills may indicate that your temperature is rising.
